I have mixed feelings about the first chapter of Naruto Gakuen. (SPOILERS AHEAD if you haven't read it.) Like, I know Sarada isn't Karin's daughter; I am quite sure Kishimoto is just introducing that conflict so we'll get lots of Sarada-questioning-family drama that will lead to some awesome Uchiha family development.
My absolute BIGGEST complaint is goddamn Sasuke being gone forever. Like, what, he marries Sakura, knocks her up, and then has to go away for like a decade??? Since Sarada specifically says she "can't remember" meeting her father and he left when she was a baby, I'm gonna be optimistic and say he left when she was maybe two or three, so at least he was around for her infancy. I've seen theories that he was sent on a mission like Jiraiya's gathering intel that requires a reeeeally long time and is for the safety of his family, or that he used to be around but for some reason needed to erase Sarada's memories when he left so she can't remember him. Well, all I have to say is that he'd better have a frickin' AMAZING reason for not being around, because Sarada is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters and how DARE he hurt that awesome girl. Oh, and he'd better work for her love; Sarada's enough like her dad that I don't think she'll be the easily forgiving type, and I'm okay with that.
But also I liked Sarada's friendships with the other kids, and I'm glad that she and Boruto are bros. Although I don't think she'd be a good ear for him to turn to for complaining about his dad... don't know how sympathetic she'd be.
Hence this drawing (which I did very quickly, and I know there are issues with it, no need to point them out. It's just for the lolz) (Boruto's hair is a pain in the ass though).
Anyway, I can't wait until the next chapter! Ughhhhh I want to see all the other characters, and see Sasuke meet Sarada, and learn more about that blue-haired boy next to Boruto, and find out why the heck Shino became an Academy teacher (so at least his students would remember his name?)!
